Mehmet Sirin’s spouse whose husband Jailed due to his Islamic activies told the grievances she had suffered.

Mehmet Sirin Ek ‘s wife Muazzez Ek told all what she has had to face  after her husband  was imprisoned in 2000 because of his Islamic activities and has been since then.

“Just because of having Islamic sentiments my husband was arrested during a battue  and heavily tortured under custody in 2000 and he hes been in prison for 15 years.” Said Muazzez Ek  to our news agency.

My husband was detained unlawfully when he was commuting from his work and we weren’t informed  about his detention for nearly one month  and he was tortured so heavily that i hardly recognized him  when i went to see him in the prison.

And also in her statement  Mrs.Ek says that my husband didn’t told me anything about the torture he had but I learnt how brutally he was tortured from his statement sent to UHRC  such as he was given electric shocks from his toes  and lips while a fat police sitting on his chest  , and insulted steadily during his interrogation.

I was ruined on the prison roads to visit my husband

My husband was sent  to different cities’ prisons .Kocaeli ,Trabzon and Bolu are some of them . I couldn’t go to visit him because of travelling expenses. At last I went to Ankara and submitted  a petition  to Ministry of Justice and my husband is now in Antalya where we live.

My children had psychological disorders and health problems

When his husband was arrested Muazzez Ek had two children one of them was  three years old and the other one was two years old . “After each visit my children were crying so much that they developed psychological disorders,  even my little child had ulcer and doctors got confused  with his illness saying that what kind of a sadness can make a little kid so upset.” Said Muazzez Ek.

I wasn’t allowed to be an attendant when  my husband had an operation

When i learned my husband was going to have a surgery I requested a permission from the prosecutors to accompany him. However my request was granted , the commander in charge didn’t let me to enter hospital and accompany my husband there.

In her statement Muazzez Ek said that her husband wasn’t allowed to perform his prayers and she wasn’t allowed to see him,either.

I want a retrial form my husband

“ I will never forgive ones who caused us to live this persecution and finally I want to indicate that my husband ‘s statement was taken under heavy torture so I ask for a new trial to  be granted to my husband.  (ILKHA)
