Iran and Syria issue joint statement on bilateral ties and regional issues

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi visited Syria for two days after receiving an official invitation from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Both leaders condemned the Zionist regime's aggression against Syria and the continued occupation of the Syrian Golan by Israel. They also strongly condemned any illegal military presence in Syrian territory and US actions in looting Syrian natural resources.
Iran and Syria expressed concern over the coercive and illegitimate actions taken by the US and EU against them, which violate international laws and humanitarian principles.
Iran reaffirmed its solidarity with the Syrian people after the devastating earthquake that recently struck the country. Both sides condemned the blockade against Syria and called for the international community's assistance in the reconstruction process.
The two sides welcomed positive political developments in the region, including the constructive relationship between Syria and Arab countries, as well as the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia under the supervision of China.
They emphasized the need for solidarity and cooperation among regional governments to ensure peace and stability in the Middle East.
Finally, both leaders paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism and expressed their support for the legitimate right of the Palestinians to resist occupation and establish an independent state.
